This shaver incorporates a few firsts for a Panasonic razor. It has a 14,000 rpm motor, and also a 2nd motor in the head which pivots up and down. The Panasonic ES LA93 men’s electric razor has a patented high speed linear motor and floating blade system with four blades. It also has a multi-flexible active head, and a vortex cleaning system which ensures the razor is clean and ready to use at any time.
The unit is manufactured solidly, with a gleaming surface, and thick body sections with foil cap plastics. It looks rather unwieldy, but once you have it in hand, it fits into a palm nicely and naturally.
This unit is a bit heavier than other Panasonic razors as there is a 2nd motor in the head, the weight however is not much of a burden.
Charging this device is a very easy process, and it only takes about 60 minutes. All you need to do is fill the small water tank with water and then slide in the cleaning pack.
If you want to shave quickly, then this razor is ideal for you. It gets to work fast; it’s unlikely that you’ll need any more than 5 minutes to get through a full shave with this unit. There is a trimmer that comes with the package which is great for trimming sideburns.

When you are done using the ES-LA93, you can utilize the hydro clean system to let the razor clean itself and be ready for your next shave. The cleaning module is a vortex dry cake of soap + water system with active drying. After shaving, you’ll just need to rinse off the razor, pop it in the cleaning system and let the device do the rest.
There is no sleep mode on the ES-LA93 which is a shame. Also, the shaver blinks about every 2 seconds which can be quite irritating. Aside from this though, the performance of the device is second to none.
It’s actually quite difficult to feel discomfort when using this razor. It almost impossible to shave against the grain with a good amount pressure and not feel comfortable. You don’t feel much pressure with this shaver.
Another quirk is the bright blue LED display which indicates the shave time, the amount of battery power remaining, and when cleaning is required.
The ES-LA93 has the look, feel and performance of a premium razor, and the cleaning system is a pleasant bonus. If you need a razor that performs well, you’re on to a winner with the Panasonic ES-LA93.
